Working as a supervisor is one of my special interests. I am a UKCP registered supervisor, and an approved supervisor on child psychotherapy and adult psychotherapy trainings for the last 15 years.

I have been a supervisor for 20 years supporting trainees, as well as qualified psychotherapists, counsellors and psychologists. I supervise practitioners working with children, adolescents, adults and parents.

I have developed and run a one year supervision course for qualified psychotherapists and art therapists.

Clinical supervision:

I see supervision as a creative partnership. I understand my role as enabling and empowering the therapists I work with. My aim is to help the supervisee work effectively and creatively with their client, and to assist them in building their skills. My intention is to support the supervisee to cultivate their unique therapeutic presence and voice.

Academic supervision:

My work as an academic supervisor is diverse.

I specialise in supporting trainees in writing their dissertations and theses. I work closely with trainees to help them understand the link between theory, research and their practice. I foster their writing skills and style.

I also work with qualified professionals who teach and train psychotherapists and counsellors. This form of supervision provides the trainer or tutor a safe space to explore, process and evaluate aspects of their teaching. I bring my experience as a therapist and supervisor, trainer, tutor, university lecturer and external examiner to this form of academic supervision.
